Biography

Sally Alvis was born about 1913 in Canada. It is not known how she came to Minnesota, but she is described as the adopted daughter of Joe and Ida Alvis in the 1930 Census.

In 1930, Sally (16) was living in the household of Jo and Ida Alvis at 3928 Fourth Avenue South, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, USA. She is described as their adopted daughter.[1]

She attended Central High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1931.[2]

Sally (19) and Gordon Roger Alexander Buchanan Parks (20) were married in 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. He was the son of Andrew Jackson Parks and Sarah A. (Ross) Parks. Their children were:

  1. Gordon Roger Parks (1934–1979).
  2. Toni Stefani Parks-Parsons (1940 - 2015)
  3. David Parks

In the 1940 census Sally (29) and Gordon (29) were the married lodgers of Edmund D Moore in St Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. Their son, Gordon Parks, Jr. (5) was with them.[3]

Sally and Gordon Parks's child Toni Stefani Parks (1940 - 2015) was born on 4 November 1940 in Hennepin, Minnesota, United States.[4]

Sally died on 14 mar 2010 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Scott, Bourbon County, Kansas, United States with a death date of 14 March 2010.[5]
