Mary's first husband (William Drain, 19) was killed on 28th May 1887, at Udston Colliery, Parish of Hamilton, 73 men were killed by a firedamp explosion. They had one son, Hugh. http://www.scottishmining.co.uk/95.html

She then married George Gourley and went on to have 3 or 4 more children. They immigrated to NZ in the early 1910's.
