Ivan Novacic was killed in the Eureka Pit Copper Mine Dynamite Explosion on 7-Jul-1912

Ivan was born about 1862 in Austria, son of Juko Novacic and Kate Pi_tar(sp?)

He was killed with 9 other men, mostly Croatians, when powder exploded at the Eureka Pit, an open-pit copper mine He was age 50 and married. He had lived in White Pine County for 7 years.

A.J. Cartwright, Coroner, signed the death certificate for all ten miners. ^[1] The death certificate lists town of death as Star Pointer, which is incorrect. Star Pointer was an underground mine. The accident was on the east side of Eureka Pit, which is Riepetown and Copper Flat.
