Biography

Fanny was born on the 18th September 1874^[1][2] in Tattersett, Norfolk, England^[3][4] and baptised on the 11th October 1874 at Tattersett, Norfolk, England the daughter of William Paget^[5] (shepherd) and Mary Ann Paget of Tattershall^[6].

Fanny Paget married James Stephen Roye on the 22nd October 1902 at Shereford, Norfolk, England. James Stephen Roye, 27, bachelor, labourer of Shereford, son of Henry Roye (labourer) and Fanny Paget, 27, spinster of Shereford, daughter of William Paget (Shepherd). Witnessed by James Paget & Sarah Paget^[5].

In 1932, Fanny and James Stephen moved to Gaywood, Norfolk^[4].

In 1939 Fanny (b. 18th Sep 1875) was living at Mintlyn Farm Cottage, Gaywood (Freebridge Lynn), Norfolk with her husband James Stephen (b. 24th June 1875)^[1].

In 1959, Fanny, a widow, was living at Castle Acre, Norfolk, England^[4].

She passed away aged 84 years in January 1959 at Hill Cottage, Stock's Green, Castleacre, Norfolk, England^[4].

"Mrs. F. Roye

The funeral took place at St. Faith's Church, Gaywood, on Thursday of Mrs. Fanny Roye, 84 year old widow of Mr. James Stephen Roye, a former farm bailiff for Mr. E de Grey Seaman, of Gaywood. Mrs. Roye died at Hill Cottage, Stock's Green, Castle Acre.

The service was conducted by the Rector, the Rev. D. N. E. Bringloe.

Mrs. Roye, a native of Tattersett, lived at Mintlyn Farm, Gaywood, until the death of her husband three years ago. She then moved to live with her eldest daughter, Mrs. M. Myhill, at Castleacre.

She married at Wells in 1901 [sic], when Mr. Roye was working at Harpley. She and her husband moved to Gaywood in 1932.

Immediate mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. W. Roye, Mr. and Mrs. M. Myhill, Mr. and Mrs. J. Roye, Miss. V. Roye, Mr. and Mrs. A. Roye, Mr. and Mrs. B. Dack, Mrs. A. Moorhouse, Mr. and Mrs. W. Paget, Mr. E. Roye and Mrs. H. Raspberry.

Unable to attend were Mrs. J. Groom, Mrs. T. Houchen senr., Mrs. W. Paget and Mrs. C. Roye.

Others present in church were: Mrs. E. de Grey Seaman, Mr. and Mrs. C. Bilverstone and Mr. W. Raspberry."^[4]
