Biography
Anne (Horte) Melsness was born in Norway
Anne Antonsdatter Horte was baptised 31 Oct 1875. Family living at Hørthe according to the church book baptism record.
Anne married Olie Marnhardt Melsness (abt.1877-1935). In the 1905 census Annie was living with her husband and two small children in Nielsville, Hubbard township, Polk, Minnesota. Her husband Ole was working as a laborer.[1] In the 1910 census Annie (age 34) was the wife of bookkeeper Olof M Melsness in Crookston Ward 3, Polk, Minnesota, United States.[2]
About 1913 they emigrated to Alberta, Canada. In the 1916 census Anna (age 41) was the wife of Olie M Melsness in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.[3] In the 1926 census Anne (age 50) was the wife of Ole Melsness in Peace River, Alberta, Canada.[4]
She passed away (aged 72–73) about 1948 in Alberta Canada. Anne was mentioned on a memorial in Valhalla Centre Cemetery, Valhalla Centre, Grande Prairie Census Division, Alberta, Canada with a death date of June 1948.[5]
