Sir William Kniveton (or Knyveton) (c.1560-1632) was the 1st s. of Thomas Kniveton† of Mercaston and Jane, da. of Ralph Leche of Chatsworth, Derbys.^[1][2]

He m. by 1581, Matilda, da. and h. of John Rollesley of Rollesley, Derbys., 3s. 3da. suc. fa. c.1591, cos. William Knyveton at Bradley c.1613; cr. bt. 29 June 1611.6 d. 19 Jan. 1632. MP for Derbyshire 1604, Sheriff 1587-8, 1614-15.
