Biography

Julius was the youngest child of Deac. Josiah Caswell and Abigail Kinne. He was born in New Milford^[1] and married^[2] Amy Averill in 1779. She died 1811^[3]. They are buried at Good Hill Cemetery^[4] in Kent.

Julius and Amy adopted 3 children^[5] , 2 sons of Daniel & Currance Johnson, Daniel b. 1791 and adopted Feb 1795 and Harry G. adopted 20 Sep 1805 (no birthdate given). They also adopted Patty (aka Polly) A. Murrey, d/o Solomon & Martha who was born 4 May 1792 and died 29 Jan 1806. She was adopted 16 Oct 1801.

Julius remarried in 1812 as recorded in the Middlesex Gazette, 5 Mar 1812, to Anna (Cogswell) Averill.^[6]
