Biography
Alexander was born in 1878. His baptism record, Social Security Application, and his immigration papers all state his birth year as 1878. When he registered for the WWI draft in September 1918, he reported his age as 39 (b. 1879), and his death cerficate also gives the 1879 year of birth. Records vary as to whether his birthday was in April or May, on the 8th or 9th.
