Jacob was born in 1788. He was the son of Isaac Froman and Sarah Harrison. He passed away in 1849.
"Isaac (father of Jacob) is listed among the solders of Colonel Cox’s Regiment that fought with General George Rogers Clark during the Revolutionary War. He marries Sarah Harrison about 1784, and is found living in Washington County, Kentucky by 1794. He is said to have been killed in Indiana in 1810. His will is probated 1 Aug 1810 in Washington County, Kentucky Probate Book B, p. 119, and an inventory is estate is produced 11 Feb 1811, Washington County Court Orders Book B, p. 149. His son Jacob Froman born in 1788; lived most of his life in Washington County, Kentucky, and is listed as a resident there in the 1811-1849 tax lists. He marries Delilah “Delila” Sherrill on 10 Sep 1816 in Washington County, Kentucky and they have at least eight children born in Washington County, Kentucky. Jacob Froman, son of Isaac, dies in Washington County, Kentucky in 1849. The previous two Jacobs (Jacob Jr and Jacob son of Paul) have both departed Kentucky by 1815; and even though he is the youngest of the Jacob Froman’s born in the 1700s, he is the most confused with Jacob Froman Sr. Many people have used/attached the Washington County, Kentucky 1830 census records to prove that Jacob Froman Sr was still alive in the 1830s. First problem is Jacob Froman Sr never lived in Washington County and second problem is the 1830 census for this Jacob Froman is for someone who is about 40 years younger than what Jacob Froman Sr would have been. This shows the importance of understanding the records you use as a source."[1]
