Katie (Scheller) Michel was a Volga German.

Katie Michel, 83, Evans, died Friday, Sept. 11, at North Colorado Medical Center.

She was born April 30, 1904, to Henry and Eva K. (Schwab) Scheller in Denhoff, Russia.

On April 15, 1920, she married Henry Michel in Windsor.

Mrs. Michel moved to Windsor with her parents at age 9, receiving her education in Windsor. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed in Windsor and various areas of Weld County. They retired in 1956 and moved to Greeley. Her husband did Aug. 19, 1962.

She was a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Marie and Miriam Ruth; two sons, Ferdinand and Sam; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Frieda K. Pownall, and two sons, Rueben and Daniel, are deceased.
