Sir Brian Broughton was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Biography

Brian Broughton was born Broughton, Staffordshire, 6 January 1718.

He was christened Eccleshall, Staffordshire, 15 January 1718. [1]

He was the son of Sir Brian Broughton, 3rd Baronet Broughton, & Elizabeth Delves.

He was Member of Parliament for Wenlock, Shropshire, between 1741 and 1744. [2]

Upon the death of his father, 12 September 1724, Brian become the 4th Baronet Broughton, of Broughton, County Stafford (established 1660).

In accordance with the will of his grandfather Sir Thomas Delves who died 12 September 1727, Brian legally changed his last name to Broughton-Delves upon inheriting the Delves estate in Cheshire.

He married Mary Forester, daughter of William Forester & Catherine Brooke, 21 May 1738 at Saint James' Church, Clerkenwell, London.

Their children were:

  1. 1740 Sir Brian Broughton-Delves, 5th Bt.
  2. 1744 Reverend Thomas Broughton, 6th Bt.

Brian died 11 August 1744, aged 25.

He was buried at Saint Peter's Churchyard, Broughton, Staffordshire. [3]
