Charles Enos was born in East Boston, Massachusetts, in 1896, the son of Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Meuse) Surette. [1]
In June of 1917, he was 21 years old and living at 30 Fiske Ave. in Somerville. He worked at the Corrugated Paper Mills in South Boston and was described as being short and slender, with brown eyes and black hair.[2]
He entered in the military on August 30, 1918, serving with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Company of the 152 Depot Brigade.[3] He died of disease while training at Camp Upton in New York less than 2 months later. He was 22 years old. He is buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, Massachusetts.[4]
