Daniel Enos Lewis Kemp was born 27 March 1854 in Jefferson, Frederick County, Maryland, USA. He was the son of William Kemp and Susan Stockman. His older siblings were:

Daniel Enos Kemp died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julia B. Notnagle, 149 West South street, Tuesday night at 9 o'clock, aged 74 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eleanore E. Kemp, and the following sons and daughters: William E. Kemp, Charles F. Kemp, Mrs. C. H. Wetzel, Howard M. Kemp, Eugene J. Kemp, Mrs. Julia B. Notnagle, all of Frederick; Mrs. William L. Dronenburg, near Pearl; Mrs. G. Ernest Lipps and Harvey G. Kemp, Frederick. Four brothers and one sister also survive: William E. Kemp, near Jefferson; Mrs. Edward Thompson, Washington; Thomas L. Kemp, Frederick; Frank Kemp, Baltimore, and Martin L. Kemp, Harrisburg, Pa. Funeral from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Notnagle, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Mt Olivet cemetery. Mr. R. Etchison & Son, funeral directors.

He had not been in good health for some time and had just recently returned to the hospital for treatment. He was born in Frederick County on September 26, 1898, and was a son of the late Daniel Enoch and Eleanor Catherine Zimmerman Kemp. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dovie Irene Harshman Kemp, and the following children, Mrs. Hilda V. Brightwell, Frederick, Mrs. Austin U. Young Jr., Edgemont Road, Mrs. Roscoe Wood and Eugene Milton Kemp Jr., both of Frederick; brothers and sisters, William Kemp, Frederick, Mrs. Mary Wetzel, Hagerstown, Mrs. Catherine Droneburg, Linganore, Mrs. Carrie Lipps, Frederick, and Harvey G. Kemp, Alexandria, Va.; seven grandchildren, one step-grandson, five great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law Mrs. Clara Harshman, of Frederick. Mr. Kemp was a retired employe of the Frederick County Roads System where he had been employed for 22 years. Friends may call at the M. R. Etchison & Son Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will take place from the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Francis E. Reinberger, pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The following brothers and sisters also survive: George W., near Urbana; Mrs. George Kemp, Washington; Mrs. Margaret Summers, Mrs. Charlotte Hoffman, Mrs. Thomas Kemp, all of Frederick; Mrs. George H. Morningstar, near Jefferson. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren and by 31 great grandchildren. Funeral services at 11 o'clock this morning from the home of Joshua E. Zimmerman, near Feagaville. Rev. Robert L. Lang officiating. The pallbearers were Edgar Zimmerman, Howard Zimmerman, Vincent Stockman, John Stockman, Eugene Kemp, Howard Kemp. Interment in Mt. Zion cemetery. M.R. Etchison and Son funeral directors.
