Theresa (Mundella) Wardle was born in Leicestershire, England.

Theresa Mundella was born in 1829 in the parish of St Margaret, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom and baptised there on 11th February 1829. She was the daughter of Anthony Mundella (born in Bradford, Yorkshire) and his wife, Rebecca Allsop (born in St Nicholas, Leicester) of Belgrave Gate, Leicester. ^[1][2]

In 1841, Anthony Mundella (40, a furniture broker, not born in the county) and his wife, Rebecca (40) had five children in the household: Anthony (15), Susanna (10), Mary (9), John (6) and Thomas (4). They were living in Orchard Street, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom. All of the children and their mother were born in the county. ^[3][4]

In 1851, Theresa Mundella (22, unmarried, milliner) was living with her parents, Anthony (53, a broker) and Rebecca (57, also a broker) and her two brothers, John (16, a butcher) and Thomas (13, a hosier's apprentice) in Belgrave Gate, Leicester. They had one servant, Hannah Tailby (15). ^[5]
