1st Baronet of Rackheath, so created September 23, 1641. Baptized at St. Margaret's, King's Lynn, February 21, 1606. Married Anne Everard at Caistor St. Edmund, August 10, 1654.[1]
Son and heir of Sir Augustine Pettus, by his 1st wife, and heir of his grandfather, Sir John Pettus MP.
Created baronet 23 Sep 1641 by a grateful King Charles I.
Thomas married Elizabeth Knyvett, daughter of Sir Thomas Knyvett of Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk at Ashwellthorpe on 27 March 1627. [2]
A Knyvett of Ashwellthorpe pedigree is given in Le Neve's Pedigrees of the Knights, p. 21-23. Elizabeth is not shown, but was presumably the daughter of the Sir Thomas who died v.p in 1605.
In which case, her mother was presumably Elizabeth Bacon. (Note Sir Thomas's uncle Thomas also had a mother-in-law called Elizabeth Bacon, but not the same person. In Wotton's version, apparently not correct, the two brothers Thomas have the two mothers-in-law of the same name.)
(A "Mr Thomas Knivett" was buried at St. Simon and St. Jude, 5th Dec 1634. Don't know where he comes in)
Thomas and Elizabeth Knyvett had the following children according to the Pettus history compiled by William Walker Pettus IV [3]
Thomas' wife Elizabeth died in 1653 and he quickly remarried to Anne Everard. His will written on 5 November 1654 describes her as his "now wife" and the daughter of Arthur Everard and sister of Charles and John.[5]
