Biography

Elizabeth was born in Swithland 9 January 1801 and baptised 20 June 1801 .She was the daughter of Augustus Butler. and Eliza Bizarre Sturt

She married Henry Dumaresq at St George, Hanover Square , London on 19 August 1828

Following her husband, Henry's death in 1838, Elizabeth returned to England in 1841with her half-brother Hon. Henry Cavendish Butler (of Lanesborough Lodge, Belturbet, Cavan) and her two children.

She died at Clifton House, Clifton, York 21 March 1877

Elizabeth Sophia Butler Danvers DUMARESQ is is my Great Great Grandmother.I am direct descendant of her husband Lt Col Henry Dumaresq and have just started family research after my brothers death and my retirement. I have lost my copy of Sir William Arbuthnotts “ KITTYBREWSTER” if somebody could help

I do have an original copy of Payne’s Armorial of Jersey that belonged to Eliza Dumaresq Darling, above Henry’s sister.So happy to be part of wikitree PS Letitia Louisa HARE is my great grandmother Regards to all lynne dumaresq
