Biography

Margaret Wardlaw was born about 1570, the daughter of Andrew Wardlaw, Lord Torrie^[1]

She married David Bethune.^[2][1][3] David and Margaret had at least eight children:

1. John Bethune, later 12th Laird of Balfour.^[3]
2. Robert Bethune, later 1st Laird of Bandon.^[1][3]
3. Andrew Bethune, later 1st Laird of Blebo.^[3]
4. Henry Bethune, who was unmarried^[3]
5. David Bethune, who left no children^[3]

1. Janet Bethune, who about 1622 married Gilbert Campbell of Keithilk.^[3]
2. Margaret Bethune, who in March 1617 married Sir Henry Wardlaw, 2nd Baronet.^[3]
3. Agnes Bethune, who on 6th July 1630 married David Colvill and was the mother of Robert Colvill, 2nd Baron.^[3]

Margaret died after 1610.
