Biography
Anna was born in 1826 to Calogero Pioppo, a sharecropper farmer, and Grazia Saladino [1]. She married in 1850 at age 24 to 28-year-old Giuseppe Barbera, a farmer [2]. She and Giuseppe had 8 children, 7 of whom died as children. Anna was widowed in 1892.
