Jane Frances Worden, 92, of Auburn, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday July 25, 2018, at M. M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. She was the daughter of the late Zeb Bryant Lewis and Evelyn Butler Lewis.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Richard "Dick" Worden; and brother, Clair Lewis. Jane is survived by her daughter, Paula (Thomas) Davis of Canandaigua; grandsons, Matthew (Marlana and their daughter Josie) Davis of Canandaigua and Michael Davis (fiancee Amanda Wheeler) of Springwater; stepchildren, Michael Worden of Skaneateles, N.Y., Kenneth (Sharon) Worden of Auburn and Linda Worden (David Palochko) of Rye, N.H.; sister-in-law, Rita Lewis of Auburn, niece, Nancie (Doug) Reese of Auburn; nephew, David (Cindy) Lewis of Rochester; three step-grandchildren and their families; and several other great-nieces and nephews.

Jane graduated from East High School in 1943 and worked as a bookkeeper for the F. W. Woolworth Company in Auburn, often traveling out of state to help set up new stores. During this time, she was an avid bowler. Later in life, due to her love of reading, Jane gained employment at Waldenbooks at the Fingerlakes Mall, rising to assistant manager before retiring.

In addition to reading, Jane enjoyed knitting, often knitting sweaters, afghans and baby blankets for her family and her daughter's friends. In recent years, Jane knitted many scarves that were donated to St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua as part of their annual charitable Christmas project.

Jane and her husband enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, Toronto, New Hampshire, Maine and especially Nashville, Tenn. More recently, taking an occasional trip with her daughter and son-in-law to either Turning Stone or del Lago Casino was a fun, and sometimes profitable, outing for her.

Jane regularly watched her favorite shows, The Golden Girls, Everyone Loves Raymond, Family Feud and Jeopardy; collected crystal; and went on weekly excursions with her home health aides. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandsons and their accomplishments. She was also quite fond of her granddaughter-in-law and future granddaughter-in-law and was truly enamored with her great-granddaughter, Josie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn, with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn, followed by a dinner for family and friends at Springside Inn, Auburn.
