Biography
James Artz was born in 1870 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Henry Artz and Elizabeth Hillman.[1]
On March 28, 1897, James married Minnie Rick in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.[2]
Minnie divorced James on March 12, 1901. James had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for arson and Pennsylvania law allowed a wife to divorce her husband if he was in the penitentiary.[3]
James died on November 18, 1908 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was shot in a hunting accident and died of his wounds.[4][1]
He is buried in the Oak Park Cemetery in New Castle, Pennsylvania.[5]
