The Rev. Edward W. L. Davies held posts including the vicar of Adlingfleet, the rural dean of Selby. He attended Jesus College Oxford, and rowed against Cambridge in the University Boat Race. He was a keen sportsman and wrote several books on hunting.[1]
He married twice: firstly to Letitia Jane, the second daughter of Edmund Francis Dayrell, and secondly to Phyllis, the widow of William Skieving (Skirving?), and daughter of Thomas King of North Huish, Devon.[2]

Edward was buried at Locksbrook cemetery, Bath.[4]
