István was first the Captain of Esztergom, then the Captain of the Highlands. Since 1471, participated in all of Matthias' campaigns. In 1489 he became the Captain of Vienna and Regent of Austria, which he handed over to the Germans rather easily after the death of the great king. Palatine since 1492, passed away in 1499.
