Mountiford Westropp was born in Ireland.

Mountiford Westropp was born about 1658. He was the second son and eventual heir of Montiford Westropp, Comptroller of Limerick, and of Ballynamean, Kilkerin and Dromline and Bunratty, County Clare, and Frances Taylor.[1][2]

In 1684, he married Elizabeth_.[1][2]

Mountiford and Elizabeth had at least the following children:[1][2]

  3. Mary Westropp m Poole Hickman
  4. Frances Westropp m W Lavitt of Cork
  5. Jane Westropp m Thomas Browne of Newgrove, County Clare
  6. Gertrude Westropp m Luke Hickman of Fenloe, County Clare[3]
  7. Anne Westropp m1 Richard Bury m2 William Spaight
  8. Susannah Westropp m John Longfield of Longueville, County Cork

On 23 June 1703, he purchased the lands of Attyflin in County Limerick from the Commissioners at Chichester House.[1] He was a Justice of the Peace for County Clare in 1709.[1] He also had lands at Kilkerin, County Clare.[1]

Mountiford made his will on 25 January 1722.[1] He died in 1725 and his will was proved on 12 May 1726.[1][4]

His wife, Elizabeth, died in 1756.
