John was born in 1855, the son of Henry FRESHOUR and his wife, Mary STEWART. [1]
In 1860, he can be found living with his parents in Pike Township, Warren County, Indiana for the 1860 US Census. [2]

In 1883, he married Ella ROBESON. [4] Together they had several children, including:
