From Stemmata Rossellana: Peter Rossell (Roszel. Rosel), grandson of Major John Rossell, was born about 1705 and died about 1782. He assumed the surname of “Roszel” and was the ancestor of the Roszel Family. He married Ann Gray (Grey), daughter of Joseph and Sarah Gray of Hopewell. N. J.; issue:— Stephen, John and Joshua. He settled in Sussex County, N. J., but in 1763 he removed to Loudon County, Va.[3]
