Biography

Alexander was born in 1799. He was the son of Joseph Reinagle.

He was organist at St Peter's Church, Oxford, England (1822-1853). He was a conductor, composer, and teacher in Baltimore, Maryland, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In 1846 he married Caroline Orger (1817), pianist, and daughter of Thomas Orger and his wife, actress Mary Anne Ivers.

They do not appear to have had any children. (1851, 1861, 1871 ENGLAND CENSUS)

He passed away in 1877. Probate to his widow. Estate 4000 pounds.
