Biography

Ethel C Witbeck was born in Flora Township, Boone County, IL on 6 Oct 1880, to parents,John Luther Witbeck (1842-1924) and Marietta G (Olney) Witbeck (1844-1929),^[1][2][3]

In 1900, Ethel was 19 and living at 217 W Hurlbut with parents John (58) and Marietta (54), two siblings Alice Witbeck (24) and Isaac Tunis Witbeck (16), who had both been born in Illinois). her paternal grandmother, Mararita Witbeck (85), and a 27 year old widowed boarder, David Graham (born in Missouri, USA). Her highest grade completed in school was 6th grade.^[4]

On 4 jun 1902, Ethel married George Henry Wheeler (1879-1962) in Boone County, IL.^[2]

Ethel died on 22 Nov 1976^[1] in Belvidere and was laid to rest at the Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere.^[2]
