Agnes Alexandra Frances Childers was born on 31 August 1848[1]. She was the daughter of Reverend Charles Childers and Dulcibella Chester.
Her mother Dulcibella died on 7 November 1865 at about age 60.
Agnes married Charles William Barton on 26 October 1876 at St. Paul, Clifton, Gloucestershire, after Banns[2]. The witnesses were her sister Florence Isabella Childers and Robert Barton.
They went on to have about nine children:
Her husband Charles died on 3 October 1890.
Her father died on 15 February 1896 at age 89. In his Will he bequeathed to Agnes the sum of £1,000.
In the 1901 Ireland Census, Agnes A T Barton (aged 53 and Land Owner and Labour Employer) was recorded living at Drummin, Glendalough, Wicklow. Also in the household were her two daughters Frances Margaret Barton (23) and Dulcibella Barton (21), her nephew Henry Childers (32), and six servants[3].
Agnes Alexandra Frances Barton died on about 12 August 1918 at Glendalough House, County Wicklow, widow of a gentleman, aged 70, reported by Robert C. Barton [4]. She was buried at Derralossary Churchyard Cemetery, Roundwood, County Wicklow, Ireland[5].
Her Will was proved in Dublin to her son Robert Childers Barton, esquire. Effects £3949 1s. 9d. in England. Sealed London 2 December 1918.
