Biography

This Margaret was Sir Adam Forrester of Corstorphine's the second wife. The Crown confirmed an ecclesiastical charter of a donation of life-rents dated at Corstorphine on 2nd March 1425 by John Forrester of Corstorphine, Knt., in which Adam Forrester of Corstorphine, Knt., is described as the father of the said John, and Margaret, John's mother [matris suo]^[1] In the next charter (same date) the family are again mentioned: Adam Forstar (sic) of Corstorphine, Knt., and Margaret his spouse (and John Forstar of Corstorphine, Knt., and Margaret, "once his spouse").

In a joint charter to the Chapel of St. John the Baptist in the parish of Corstorphine, confirmed 26th May 1429, Margaret Forstare [sic], relict of Sir Adam Forstare of Corstorphine, Knt., and [her son] Sir John Forstare of Corstorphine, Knt., donate certain annual-rents to the chapel from tenements of land in Edinburgh and the village of Leith and the temple lands in Medowfield in Corstorphine,^[2]
