Biography

Marianthe was born in Greece in 1930. She was the daughter of Alec and Kaliope Mouzas.

She married Peter J. Vatistas. (1924-2007)

Marianthe passed away in 2012 in Biddeford, Maine. She was buried in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cemetery in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire, USA.

Obituary

Marianthe A. (Mouzas) Vatistas, 82, formerly of Portland Ave, passed away quietly on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at St. Andre Healthcare Facility in Biddeford, Maine.

Formerly of Papingo, Greece, Marianthe was the daughter of Alec and Kaliope Mouzas and came to the U.S. in the late 1940s to join her father and brother.

Marianthe was an employee of Miller Shoes and Colby Shoes. She was a long time member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Dover, and was actively involved in and enjoyed church activities where she participated with many friends.

Besides her parents, Marianthe was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter J. Vatistas who passed away in June of 2007 and her brother, Arthur Mouzas, in 2009.

Marianthe is survived by her nephew, Alexander Mouzas of Saco, Maine and beloved godchildren in the U.S. and in Greece.

A special thanks to the staff at Langdon Place, Bellamy Fields and St. Andre Healthcare who cared for and befriended Marianthe during her residence.

A mass of celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri., Dec. 21, 2012 at the Annunciation of Greek Orthodox Church, 93 Locust St., Dover, N.H. with Rev. Dr. Costin Popescu, officiating. Interment will follow at the Greek Cemetery, Spur Road, Dover, N.H.
