Richard Taylor was born in 1706 in County Cork, Ireland. He was the son of Berkeley Taylor and Sarah Hoare.[1][2][3]
His father, Berkeley Taylor, succeeded to the estate of Ballynort, Askeaton, County Limerick in 1735.
Richard attended Trinity College, Dublin. The Alumni Dublinenses records him as aged 17 on 29 July 1723, the son of Berkeley and born in Cork. He matriculated with a BA (Vern- Spring) in 1729 and MA (Aest- Summer) in 1733.[4]
Reverend Richard Taylor, of Kinsale, made his will dated 24 October 1764 and proved on 29 November 1765. On 25 November 1764, he was buried at Cove after passing away on board a ship bound for Bristol. In his will, he left his gold watch and seals, and gold-headed cane, to "John Gill, doctor in physick, and now Sovereign of Kinsale". The rest of his estate was left to his niece, Sarah Westropp.[5]
