Biography

James was born in 1833. He was the son of Roman Doolittle and Lydia Thrope. He passed away in 1917.

He was a machinist, mechanical engineer, & inventor. He invented a Winchester rifle that could fire 40 rounds, was infringed out of his rights. Later he was connected with the Meridan Silver Plate Company. In 1870 he was a dye sinker.
