Matthew Kinchen McKinney was born on 6 May 1844 in Talbot County, Georgia, USA. He passed away on 10 Oct 1878 (aged 34) in Union County, Arkansas, USA and was buried in Old Lapile Cemetery, Lapile, Union County, Arkansas, USA.[1]

Disputed parents. He was either the son of:

  • Henry McKinney (1800 Cumberland Co., NC -ca 1866 Union Co., AR) and Lettice McCrary (1810 Baldwin Co., GA -1883 Haskell Co., TX)[2]
  • Terrence McKinney (b.abt.1816 in Ireland) & Rebecca Tipton McKinney (b.abt.1820 in GA).
  • James Caleb McKinney and Mary Eliza (Hawthorne) McKinney.
  • There is a Kinchen McKinney, age 7, on the 1850 Federal Census, Georgia, Talbot, Dist 16, living with Henry McKinney (NC) , age 50 and Luttice (GA), age 40.
