Obituary:
Jimmy Leroy McGee, 62, self-employed landscaper and resident of Lewisburg,TN died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Williamson Medical Center. Born September 29, 1951 in Rogers, Arkansas, he was the son of Lyndal and Margaret Staats McGee of Gravette, Arkansas. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his love of eighteen years, Jodie Olive of Lewisburg; children, Chris McGee of Lake City, Florida; Erin Matthews of Lewisburg, Sam McGee of Sterling, Virginia, Jessica Harrington of Nashville, Sean McGee of Columbia, Geoffrey McGee and Ramsay McGee, both of Franklin; grandchildren, Aurora Matthews, Bastian Matthews, Caiden McGee, Calla Matthews; brothers, Randy (Darla) McGee of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Larry (Sandy) McGee of Gravette, Arkansas; sister, Linda (Rob) Nehrbas of Scottsdale, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by one child, Jesse McGee and one sister, Tammy McGee.
Jim was a very laid back soul with family and a great many friends that very much miss his presence, easy laughter, encouragement, and brilliance. He was smart, friendly, creative, and an excellent gardener & landscaper.
He had a keen interest in history. He loved learning new things. He totally steered away from all conflict and drama. He was always game for dressing up in costumes to go to the Renaissance Festivals and any other artistic event. He made a mean Gandalf, Jack Sparrow, Ned Stark. It would take him hours to walk through any Renaissance Festival because so many people would stop him to take his photo or have their picture taken with him.
Jim loved his family and friends and we all returned that sentiment. Jim's passing has left a great empty space in the lives of many.
You are very sadly missed my old friend. RIP Jim
