Biography

Jane Whitney was born on 27 March 1782 in Raymond, Maine. Her parents were Moses Whitney and Sarah (Gerry) Whitney[1].

She married Daniel Cook on 9 May 1800 in Otisfield, Maine[2]. They had seven children[3]:

1. Huldah, born 6 Apr 1804; married Lemuel Jones
2. Maria, born 26 Mar 1806; married Oliver Pope
3. Emma, born 23 Mar 1808; married William Hall
4. Sarah, born 20 Mar 1810; married Isaiah Pope
5. Salome, born 13 Jun 1813; married Clark N. Maxfield
6. Valentine, born 25 Feb 1816
7. Mary Jane, born 23 Mar 1819; married Joseph Douglass

Jane passed away on 29 July 1871 in Windham, Maine[4] and is buried in Cook Pinkham Cemetery[5].
