Biography

Josiah Maxfield was born on 31 March 1773 in Windham, Maine. His parents were William Maxfield and Mary (Wescott) Maxfield^[1].

He married Nancy Partridge on 21 February 1802 in Portland, Maine. They relocated to Raymond, Maine after their marriage. They had nine children^[2]:

1. Nathan, born 13 Dec 1802; married Sarah Jane Cook

2. Katherine, born 5 Apr 1808; married Isaiah Gould

3. Clark Norton, born 28 Jan 1810; married Salome Cook

4. Joseph, born 28 Apr 1812; married Mary Anne Estes

5. Annie, born 25 Mar 1815; died 1834

6. Rufus, born 7 Jul 1817; married Mary Ann Cook

7. Elizabeth, born 22 Jul 1819; married Jesse Stanley

8. Lydia, born 7 Jul 1822; married Nathan Pope

9. Andrew, born 17 Nov 1826; married Louisa Pinkham

Josiah passed away on 3 January 1834 in Raymond, Maine^[3] and is buried in Maxfield Cemetery.
