Biography

John (Jack) Hamilton Lockyer 1921-2004 was the son of Captain Edmund Lawrence Braithwaite Lockyer RN and Kathleen Mary Hamilton.

He fought in WW 2 when he was taken as a P.O.W. by the Japanese at the Fall of Singapore. He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.).

After the war he became a solicitor. He married Cecily Mildred Wheatley (b. c. 1929) on the 30th of May 1953 in St. Leonard's Church, Watlington, Oxfordshire. They had three children, Julia, James and Susie.

He died aged ~ 83y on the 25th of February 2004, his funeral being held on the 10th of March in Michaelstow Church, Cornwall.
