Biography
Eliza Davis was born on 27 March 1811 in Raymond, Maine. Her parents were John Davis and Rhoda (Jordan) Davis[1].
She married Seba Smith around 1831 in Casco, Maine[2].
Eliza passed away on 27 June 1845 in Raymond[3] and is buried in Raymond Village Cemetery[4].
Research Notes
Eliza's birth record states that her father was Gideon, but author Taylor states that her father was John (son of Gideon). Given that Gideon's wife Abigail would have been beyond childbearing age as of Eliza's birth year in 1811, it makes sense that the birth record is incorrect and her father was indeed John. -- Liat 15:53, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
