Biography

Jessie was born in 1860 . According to the 1910 Census she was born in New York, as were her parents.

The 1900 US Census indicates her husband's parents were born in Ireland. She had a daughter born in 1897 also named Jessie Minerva Babcock .

The 1865 New York Census at Rochester shows her at age 5 with parents James and Minerva (Manerva) Babcock. James was born in Oneida County around 1820. Minerva was born about 1831. Many of the family are buried in Rochester and it appears Jessie's mother died in 1866. The 1875 Brighton Monroe New York State Census shows teenage Jessie living with her father James, no mother, and her grandfather John Babcock of Connecticut (Born about 1787). Almost all of these people are buried in Mt Hope Cemetery in Rochester, New York.

Obituary

Friday, Jan. 21, 1955, Jessie Donlon, of this city. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Edward Schroeder; two sons, Frank and Charles Donlon; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Hedges Memorial Chapel, University Ave., where services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.^[1][2]
