Biography

Daniel was born in 1825. He was the son of Benjamin Dyer and Elizabeth Vyse.

He is named as the father of George Oakley on the latter's marriage record, but not his baptism.

Daniel married Susan Oakley, a relative of George's mother Elizabeth a couple of years after George's birth.

They had a number of children before Daniel died in 1862.

His memorial stone can be found quite easily in the churchyard of the ruined St Mary's church at Tivetshall.
