Died from broncho pneumonia, with measles as a contributory cause. He is the son of Andrew Scibelli and Philomena Ciccarelli. He was born in Springfield MA and his parents in Italy. Andrew is the informant.[6]
In the 1910 federal census of Springfield, MA, taken 16 April, Andrew Scibelli, 26 (b. 1883), heads a household at 331 Water St. He has been married to Filomena, 22 (b. 1887), for two years and they have two children, both living: Anthony, who is one year and seven months, and Michael, four months. Also in the household is Salvator Scibelli, Andrew’s brother, age 20 (b. 1890). Andrew, his wife, and his brother, were born in Italy and the babies were born in MA. Andrew immigrated in 1899 and his wife’s immigration year is unknown. Salvator immigrated in 1910. Andrew is a barber with his own shop. Salvator is a laborer with the street department, as is their neighbor, Joseph Cardaropoli.[7]
Antony is born on 16 October 1911 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of Andreas Scibelli and Filomena Ciccarella, of 331 Water St. Andreas is a barber. Both parents were born in Italy.[8][9] The federal record of Anthony's death confirms the birthdate in his civil birth record.[10] A state record of his death gives a different date, 15 September 1912.[11]
Andrea Scibelli, a barber at 288 Water St, appears in the 1912 Springfield business directory on p. 801. There’s a note at the end of his listing that says to see p. 1109. On page 1109 is an ad for the Scibelli Italian Employment Bureau at 288 Water St. “Do You Find It Hard to Get Good Help ? Most Employers Do,” it begins in large print.[12]
Marie Scibelli, daughter of Andrea Scibelli and Filomena Ciccarelli, is born at 331 Water St., Springfield, MA on 26 October 1912. Her father is a barber. Both parents born in Italy.[13]

In 1915, 1917, and 1921, Andrew is listed in the Springfield city directory as a notary public.[16]
According to an unsourced family tree on Ancestry.com, Andrew's brother, Salvatore, marries Filomena's sister, Maria Ciccarella, on 12 April 1915 in Springfield.[17]
The second daughter also dies in infancy:
Mary Scibelli, born 28 December 1913, dies on 22 June 1915 in Springfield. The cause is lobar pneumonia. Address is 18 Lombard St. Father is informant.[18]
In the spring of 1916, Andrea is a business agent who negotiates a contract for 300 shovelers. After initially accepting the offer, a faction of the shovelers take over a union meeting and determine to extend the strike, rejecting the offer. Andrea quits and delegate Carlo Siniscalchi followed suit.[19] Carlo is sentenced the following month for an attack on a police officer, the previous year.
Andrew Pellegrino Scibelli registers for the draft for WWI on 12 September 1918. He lives at 27 Wilcox, Springfield, MA. He is 35, born 23 March 1883. He is a naturalized citizen. He is self-employed as a real estate agent from his home address. His nearest relative is Filomena Scibelli at the same address. He is of medium height and build with brown eyes and black hair.[1]
Taken 19 January 1920, the federal census of Springfield MA shows Andrew P. Scibelli heading a household at 688 1/2 Main St. He is 36 (b. 1884), immigrated in 1900, naturalized in 1913. His wife, Philomena, 31 (b. 1889), immigrated in 1893 and was naturalized the same year as her husband. Also at home are Michael, 10 (b. 1910), and Antonio, 8 (b. 1912). Andrew and his wife are Italian born and their sons were born in MA. Andrew is the manager of a billiards parlor, working on his own account.[20]
In the 1927 Springfield city directory, Andrew P. Scibelli is listed at 896 Main and 66 Marble in Springfield.[16]
In the 1930 federal census of Springfield, MA, taken 16 April, Andrew P. Scibelli owns his home at 66 Marble St. His home is worth $5,000. Andrew is 46 (b. 1884) and his wife, Filomina, is 40 (b. 1890). They first married when they were 24 and 18, respectively (around 1908). Also at home are sons Michael, 20 (b. 1910), and Anthony, 18 (b. 1812). Andrew and Filomina were born in Italy and immigrated in 1900 and 1898 respectively. Their sons were born in Massachusetts. Andrew is a real estate agent.[21]
Andrew P. Scibelli and his wife Filomena appear in the Springfield, Massachusetts, City Directory, living at 66 Marble St. in 1934. He is in insurance and real estate.[16]
Andrea Scibelli applies for membership in the Order of the Sons of Italy, Grande Loggia del Massachusetts, on 8 May 1934, is accepted on 12 June, and initiated on 10 July.[3]
In 1940, Andrew P. and Filomena A. Scibelli are listed with the Court Square Cafe, 161 State, and living at 66 Oswego.[16]
In the 1940 federal census of Springfield, MA, taken 15 April, Andrew Scibelli, 56 (b. 1884), heads a household at 6 Oswego St with his wife, Filomina, 50 (b. 1890). They were both born in Italy. Andrew is the proprietor of a cafe. Also at home is a son, Anthony, 26 (b. 1914), whose occupation is given as “parking lot.”[22]
Anthony marries Lea Baraldi around 14 October 1940.[23]
Andrew dies at home on 19 November 1941 after a short illness.[24][25]
Filomena dies in 1982.[26]
Anthony dies from pneumonia at age 86 on 18 September 1998 in Springfield, Massachusetts.[27]
Anthony M. Scibelli is buried in St. Michaels Cemetery in Springfield. According to a caption added by Maria B. on 16 April 2015, Anthony is buried but not listed in a plot with Filomena C. Scibelli, 1889-1982. Filomena is buried with her husband, Andrew P. Scibelli, 1883-1941. Also here are Michael W. Scibelli, 1909-1979; Rita E. Scibelli, 1914-2006; Michael A. Scibelli, 1949-1995, and his wife Barbara F. Scibelli, 1939-1996.[26]
