Bernard Joseph Foley, age 77, entered Eternal Life at his home on September 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, after battling Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He was a loving husband, loving father, and a loving grandfather.
Bud was born in 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts to Bernard and Mae Foley. He graduated in 1964 from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA majoring in History. He served in the Army National Guard for approximately 10 years. At a Mount Carmel Catholic Youth Dance, he tapped Kathy Ford on the shoulder and asked her to dance. With this dance, a spark was lit and they married in 1965 and raised five wonderful children. They were married for 53 years and every one of those years was special.
Bud loved sports including playing golf at the Juniper Golf Club and playing basketball games at Dean Park in the summer. He also was an avid stamp and baseball card collector.
Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy; son Tim and his wife Barbara, daughter Eileen and her husband Jeff, daughter MaryBeth and her husband Anthony, son Tom and his wife Monique, daughter Sister Margaret OSF; and grandchildren, Katy, Elizabeth, Sierra, Finnigan, and Kylee. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother Jim and his wife Rosalie; sister Anne Marie and sister-in-law Judy. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Macie Mae and his brother Ed.
A Rosary will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 9:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to follow in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will be held in Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr NE, following Mass.
Bud had a strong faith and it is this faith that is comforting his family at this time.
