James Leitch Jr. was born on 7 Sep 1843 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania to parents James W Leitch Sr. and Jane Huntly Hardie. He married Martha Hunter about 1868 in Pennsylvania. Children: William Jones, Robert hardie, Thomas M, George H. He died on 26 Sep 1880 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
James served as a Private in Company E, 123rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry of the Union Army during the Civil War.
