[{ This profile is currently being researched by janette, 13/10/2019}] Wilhelm was a member of the NieMoller group in Germany and had to subsequently flee in the years prior to WW2. He and his wife went to Brazil, and from Brazil to Bloemfontein, South Africa, he arrived in South Africa on 18/12/1935, where yet again he had to flee in early 1940. He was the Pastor of the Bloemfontein Lutheran Church, his congregation being mostly farmers. He resigned from the church in 1940 and went to Johannesburg,South Africa where he did translations for the Government office of censorship. He was an active member of the German Relief Committee. He applied for SA Naturalisation in September 1938 after losing his German citizenship and being condemned to death in Germany due to his beliefs and anti-Nazism.
