Elspit was born about 1600. She passed away in 1662 Scotland. The Scottish baptism records for the children of William Jonking and wife Elspit Maull were recorded in the Brechin Cathedral in Angus County, Scotland. The family records did not use the surname McJunkin(s). Their son Robert Jonking had a baptism record, and eventually migrated to York, Maine, British Colonial America. He used the surname "Junkins" and descendants as well. This was not the family of Robert McJunkin, born in Scotland, migrated to Northern Ireland, married there Margaret Caldwell, and then migrated to Pennsylvania, with descendants resettling to upcountry South Carolina through the revolution before migrating westward.[1]
