Biography

Louis was born on January 7, 1830 in Sainte-Croix, Lotbinière, Bas-Canada, son of Louis Bergeron and Marie Charlotte Baron. He was baptized there the following day by Rev Jean-Baptiste Potvin, the Cure of Ste.Croix.^[1]

Marriage: Louis and Eulalie exchanged marriage vows in the newly formed parish church of St.-Eusebe-de-Stanfold in Princeville.^[2] Father Marc Pelletier, gave them their nuptial blessings. Louis and Eulalie both agreed to the marriege contract by placing their marks between their names on the document while several witnesses watched.^[3]

Louis and Eulalie his wife lived on the Third Range at Ste.-Croix until around 1840 when the parish of St.Flavien was being developed.Due to the attraction of an abundance of underdeveloped land, Louis.moved his family to St.Flavien from where the ten year old son Louis worked with his father until he in turn was old enough to become a head of household. Louis and Eulalie parented 13 children.

He passed away in 1891.
