Biography

Coy Lee Cagle was born on 28 Nov 1919 in Franklin, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Walter Cagle and Leola Nicklas. Coy married Thomas (Tommy) Haley Laird in Yuma, Arizona, on 1 Jul 1935, when she was 15. They had three daughters. They divorced in 1955, and she then married Thomas Martin Jackson on 28 Feb 1955 in Los Angeles, California. She died on 18 Dec 2005 in Shafter, California, at the age of 86. She is buried in the Shafter Memorial Park, Shafter, Kern County, California, USA.

A graveside service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Coy Lee Jackson, age 86, on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 1:00 p.m.; officiating will be Elder Lee Downing of the Shafter Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. Interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. No visitation is planned. Coy Lee Jackson was born in Ozark, Arkansas, the first of eight children born to Walter and Leola Cagle.

Coy was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; son, Coy Eugene Jackson [step-son]; and her husband, Thomas M. Jackson. She will be missed by her physical and spiritual family. Her daughters, Sherida and husband, Richard Selvick of Shafter, Marlene Campbell of Vallejo, CA, Novena and husband, Mike Oscars of Bakersfield; Joyce [step-daughter] and husband, Maurice Williams of Rialto, CA; son, Thomas M. Jackson, Jr. [step-son] and wife Nancy of Kennewick, WA; siblings Arthur Cagle of Brentwood, Ca., R. C. and wife, Polly Cagle of Antioch, CA, Charles and wife, Anna Cagle of San Diego, CA; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
