Spanish War Vet Herbert Raught Dies at Age 93

Herbert N. Raught. 93, Seelyvllle, died Sunday at home after an illness. Born in Fleetville, son of the late Charles and Harriett Clark Raught, he was a retired painter. Ha was a member of Central Methodist Church, Honesdale, and an honorary member of the official board of that congregation; former president of the Mens Bible Class, honorary member of Perkins Pond Hunting and Fishing Club. He is the last Wayne County survivor of the Spanish -American War. He was past master of the Junior Order of American (Mechanics, Hones-dale, and former member of Odd Fellows Lodge 88. Surviving are four sons, Roger E., Susquehanna, RD 1; Carlisle, Maine, N.Y.; Kenneth J . , Detroit, and Ivan M., Seelyvllle; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Burlingame, Endicot, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main St., Honesdale, with services by Rev. Daniel Raught, pastor, Assembly of God Church, Fulton, N.Y., assisted by Rev. William Raught Pisauro, Gospel Tabernacle, Honesdale. Interment, Indian Orchard Cemetery.^[2]
