Biography

Grace Mildred Mackay was born in Quebec in 1881, a daughter of Canadian-born William Mackay -- whose parents had immigrated from Scotland -- and English-born Caroline; the family moved from Canada to the United States in 1891.

Grace married Archie Hicks at Tacoma, Washington, in mid-March of 1903. Archie died in 1940; Grace survived him by two decades, dying at Tacoma in 1961.
