Biography
Jane was born in 1808. She passed away in 1896.
Jane's middle name may be Sycmore, as shown in Descendants of William & Mary (Barrett) Dyer of Rhode Island. She is shown as person 1763. Jane Sycmore Beckett in the seventh generation:[1] The only record as Seymore is on her Find-a-Grave memorial for which a suggested edit has been submitted.
Jane Beckett was born on 10 August 1808 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine (known as Massachusetts until 1820). Her father is shown only as Beckett, but both parents are named in her death record, attached below.[2]
Jane married Jonathan K. Morse in 1829 in Portland, Maine.[3]
Jane, the daughter of Thomas A. Beckett and Abigail Dyer, died on 22 June 1896 in Gorham, Cumberland, Maine.[4] She is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.[5]
Census
On 6 September 1850, Jane (age 40) and Johnathan were in 3rd Ward, Portland with six children at home.[6]
On 17 July 1860, Jane S. Morse (age 50) and her family were in the 5th Ward, Portland. Her mother Abigail Beckett, who was also counted in the household of Jane's brother, Charles in Portland, was living with or visiting the family.[7]
On 27 July 1870, Jane (Age 60) was living in Gorham with her son George Morse.[8]
On 19 June 1880, Jane (age 70) was alone in Gorham.[9]
